Impressed uppercase mark, 3 and cypher, shape no. 2077, modeled by Paul Comoléra
Naturalistically modeled standing before a hollow tree-stump and fern, nibbling a leafy branch, on a circular base. Height 33 inches.

Note:
Paul Comoléra (French, 1818-1897), known for his animalier sculpture, was a student of François Rude and mentor of Jules Moigniez.

Condition Report: Appears to be in good condition. Restoration to both ears, leaf tips by fawn's mouth and near feet, and both front hoofs. Rim chips to tip of tail, and other small rim chips. Black colored line to left side of faun, approx 2 1/2 in. long. Not black lighted
