Miscellaneous items of militaria, various dates.
Comprising: an officer's shako plate in gilt metal resembling that of the pattern 1855-61 shako, with the numerals XXIII on a disc in the centre and with traces of patent leather surrounding it; an officer's undress peaked forage-cap badge and single (right-hand) service dress collar badge, The Bedfordshire Regiment c. 1912; a single shoulder badge of an ADC and/or ADC General to King George V, in gilding metal of the pattern worn in undress and service dress, post-1910; a single flat white metal button of the Staff College, perhaps of the Staff College Drag (of which Dobell was 1st Whip - see his scrapbook), c.1903-04; a pair of general officer's rank badges - crossed sword and baton - in gilding metal of the pattern worn in undress and service dress, post-1915; two narrow brown leather straps with brass buckles; a white metal plaque engraved with a presentation inscription to Dobell from 4th Bn Royal Welch Fusiliers c.1926-38; a rating's cap tally from H.M.S. Commonwealth ('Commonwealth' was the name of one of Dobell's horses while in India 1917-20; a bay Australian gelding and 'a bold and magnificent jumper' - see his scrapbook).
