Circa 400-600 AD Chieftain Portrait Stirrup Spout Vessel , terra cotta (Huaco) - Sitting Aristocratic figure in a trance-like state, large wide eyes and strong nose, with the septum pierced for the ornament. A Brass ring hand from the septum, and is newer. The ancient piece is painted deep red, retaining tattoo-like designs in faded black; in excellent condition measures 7" x 9" Provenance: Montecito, California collection of L.
