Provenance: By Hart, Joseph C. About this Item: R. Lockwood, New York, 1826. Hardcover. Condition: VG. Second Edition. Very rare in this condition and edition. Brown 1/4 calf leather spine, with green marbled boards & tanned title label paste-down on cover. Revised and corrected. 8 3/4" x 13 3/4". Drawn and Engraved to Illustrate Hart's Geographical Exercises, with 14 hand-colored folding double page maps all present. Maps included are-The World, North America, United States, New York, West Indies, South America, Europe, G. Britain and Ireland, Germany, Med. Sea, Asia, Pacific Ocean, Africa, and Interior of Africa. Front cover label with a few chips on corners, affecting a few letters of Africa. Title page top corner chipped away up to an area of 2" x 4", not affecting any print or lettering. Some very minor/small fox spots on maps, water staining on inner front cover and a couple prelim, forelim foredges. Front free end paper missing. Minor front/rear inner hinge crack archivally repaired and a small tear repair on spine tail. Prev owner name/date very lightly written on title page and very lt., (barely noticable) name of map on reverse pg on some of the maps. A couple minor closed edge tear archival repairs. Minor/small extremity chipping/rubbing/wear. Overall the book is in very good condition with some minor explained defects. ; Hand-Colored maps; Oversized; 28 pages.
