Modern Irish silver tankard
A modern Irish silver tankard in late 17th century style, the slightly tapered cylindrical form with flat hinged cover to a corkscrew thumb-piece and scroll handle. Hallmarked Royal Irish Silver Co., Dublin 1972, with further import hallmarks for Sheffield Assay Office, same date. Height to top of lid 12.5cm, and to thumb-piece 15cm, weight 23.18ozt (721g).
Condition Report:
- Appears in good overall condition
- Displaying some general expected surface marks and scratches/nicks
- With tarnishing throughout, and a little blackening/residues to some areas and crevices
- Hinged lid closes flush to rim
- Cleaner inside
- Hallmarks located below the rim to one side of handle with import marks to base, lightly rubbed in parts but all still clearly legible
