Modernist Impasto Style Poodle Sculpture
This expressive impasto-style sculpture depicts a poodle in a seated position with a heavily textured surface. The piece is finished in a dark bronzed-tone brown that accentuates the swirling, thick applications of the modeling material. Standing approximately 8 inches tall, the figure has a commanding tactile presence and modern aesthetic.
Condition
The sculpture shows surface wear with some areas of loss to the finish, particularly on the edges and lower portions. The texture is intentionally rough and irregular, so some apparent chips may be original to the fabrication. There is a small area showing a lighter material underneath the dark brown surface coat.
