Modesto Montilla y Aguilar (1842-1899) - Poupette

[ translate ]

- Oil on canvas. Delicate children's portrait from the beginning of the 20th century, due to the brushes of the Cordoba artist Modesto Montilla y Aguilar, a native of the town of Puente Genil and who dedicated himself with special will to portraiture in his geographical environment. This painting, the graceful effigy of a young girl, adopts a naturalism that suffers from a certain idealization surely forced by the client, with an effect similar to that of a miniature. The artist has included as an anecdotal element the elegant tartan band that surrounds the young girl's chest. A beautiful painting of great artistic and decorative value.
- Dimensions of the image without frame: 35 x 45 cm / 50 x 60 cm with beautiful canvas wood frame.
- Comes from a private collection in Madrid.
- Good general condition. Minimal faults.
- Montbaron Gallery attaches a technical sheet prepared by a qualified art historian with all its lots.
- Shipping costs are indicative.
- Important: Due to the fragile nature of old frames, shipping companies do not provide compensation for damage to frames. We make great efforts to ensure the protection of paintings, but we cannot accept complaints about damage to frames.
