Molybdenite in/on Quartz Crown Point Mine, Railroad Creek, Railroad Creek District, Chelan Co., Washington, USA "A single fairly well formed hexagonal 7cm molybdenite crystal on quartz. It has been repaired. X Robert Bartsch collection. I got the specimen when I was given Bob's collection in his living trust. The scale under the specimen is an inch with a rule at one cm." - Rock H. Currier The Crown Point Mine is one of the premier Molybdenite localities of the world. It takes a boat ride to get near the mine, but the scenery is nice ... watch out for the bears. For those of you still stuck with Imperial Measurements (Liberia, Myanmar and the good old U.S. of A) the 7 cm crystal would be just under 3 inches across. This Molybdenite crystal is large enough to inspire lust and a desire to find more: get out your fishing gear and your bear spray, or, just make a bid. Note: Bob Bartsch only kept specimens that he self-collected. Overall Measurements: 4.5 x 3.7 x 2.2 inches (11.5 x 9.5 x 5.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Ex. Robert Bartsch Collection [RHC #9252, acquired March 2015] MinID 2NU-25N [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
