This Dutch artist, who marked his works with the monogram ADK, has not yet been identified. However, he must have been part of the circle of Gerrit Dous in Leiden, as this painting shows. References to his artistic work can otherwise only be found in historical documents. Cornelis Hofstede de Groots has found half a dozen works that appear in auction catalogues of the 18th and 19th centuries and include genre scenes and portraits (cf. the corresponding index cards in the Rijksbureau voor kunsthistorische Dokumentatie, The Hague).
