Beautiful Montblanc fountain pen in commemoration of LUDOVICO SFORZA with the number 2344 of 4810. BRAND NEW, IN ITS BOX. The design of the cap’s end and cone of the Ludovico Sforza 4810 and 888 Limited Edition is inspired by the imposing architecture of Sforzesco Castle. The ornaments of the fresco mural painting created by Leonardo in the "Sala delle Asse" of the Milanese castle decorate the brilliant black lacquer of the writing article. Leonardo's emblem adorns the 888 Limited Edition, lacquered in translucent blue. With its engraving, the cap’s ring recalls a "Testone", an Italian Renaissance silver coin minted in honour of Ludovico Sforza. 925 silver (4810) inlays and 750 (888) gold accessories put the finishing touches to this fascinating Limited Edition in homage to Ludovico Sforza. The Sforza shield has served as inspiration for the 750 gold engravings in the nibs of both editions. Ludovico Maria Sforza was born in 1452 and was the fourth son of the Milanese duke Francesco Sforza. After his coronation as Duke of Milan in 1494, Ludovico promoted humanistic training at the University of Milan and built the Renaissance fortress Sforzesco Castle. During his years as sovereign, Ludovico Sforza supported numerous renowned artists by contracting them for the Milanese court, including the architect Donato Bramante and the greatest genius of his time, Leonardo da Vinci. This universal genius worked for the Milanese duke and under the commission of the patron Ludovico Sforza created "The Last Supper" in the church of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, as well as "The Lady with Ermine", two of the best known works of da Vinci.
