Montegrappa - Fountain pen - 1

[ translate ]

MONTEGRAPPA "Reminiscence" fountain pen from 1994 in 925/1,000 solid silver, with 14kt gold nib, engraved with the name “Montegrappa”. Never used! The box is missing, hence the reserve price is lower than the pen’s real value. Pictures show a layer of dust and a slight oxidation on the silver parts, due to time. The pen could be left it in its current state or could be polished; in this case, seller can do it, upon request. A brief history While the 300 and 400 Righe were an homage to the pens of the 1930s, the Reminiscence goes even further back, when Italy joined World War I. The US was still two long years away from entering the war. The Reminiscence was based on a Montegrappa model, made in 1915; the series was introduced in 1983 and was the flagship collection, available in several different styles and sizes. There were Octagonal models and Round models. Each came in a large and thin size and in a simple or engraved finish. The main feature of the Reminiscence pens was that the body was threaded so that the cap could be screwed when released. The first Reminiscence pens came with a section of ebonite, but it soon changed into a section of sterling silver and/or 18 kt gold plated sterling silver.
