Palatial sized carved stone garden statue of Dionysus. Life sized standing approx 78" tall (6ft 5"). Highly detailed carved white carrara marble throughout including the full lion skin pelt he is wearing. Bust carved into a tapered form body as shown. Truly an iconic status symbol statue. Originally Dionysus was the Greek god of fertility. Later, he came to be known chiefly as the god of wine and pleasure. The Romans called him Bacchus.
