Monumental Pair of Asian Carved and Polychromed Hardwood Figures

early 20th century, each dressed in a red robe and standing on a carved lotus leaf base, hands in prayer and supplication.

Condition Report: **Both figures exhibit some shrinkage cracks and separation at the arm and shoulder joints with some small losses. Both figures have scattered losses and nicks to their pigment and gesso ground. One figure has additional separation at seams in hands. The other figure has shrinkage cracks to the back, a repair to the proper left hand and sleeve, and a loss to the bottom edge of the pedestal. There is also a small patch repair with filler to the back of the head. In overall fair to good condition. Condition is as to be expected with material and age.
