Menaya April Icon, of the Nougorod Iconographic School. Russian Orthodox period, dates from 1798-1850. Translation of the writing on reverse states that this icon was housed in the Suhovatovskaya Church (Jesus-born Church). Wooden panel, tempera & gold leaf, in very good condition, commensurate with age. Size: 21 1/2 x 18 1/2 in.
