Morris - 1 Original bromide - Lucky Luke T7 - L'Élixir du Docteur Doxey - 1964

This lot comes from the archives of the publisher “Dupuis”, who printed this number 16 Gag de Poche in 1964 for an adventure well known to collectors.

Made on A5 format (21 cm x 13 cm) , this plate includes the text written in Indian ink and the Morris characters were specially printed on glossy paper, then these bromides were cut out to make the boxes, sometimes with an addition of Indian ink to complete a character or a speech bubble or a decorative element as in this plate.

Here, the horse in the last strip has been redrawn by Morris, on a small pencil draft.

With a stamp on the back “pocket gag 16, page 71 affixed to special DUPUIS drawing paper, this lot is an authentic period witness created by Morris in his star series LUCKY LUKE.
