Morton & Bennett, Brantford, CW 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar

Brantford, Ontario. 1856-1857. Salt-glazed stoneware. A nicely decorated preserve jar with lug handles from the brief partnership between Justus Morton and businessman Adolphus Bennett, in the early period of the important Brantford stoneware factory. Stamped, "Morton & Bennett / Brantford C.W. / 2". 11.5" x 8.75" Dia. From the Late Mike O'Hara Collection.
Condition Report: Hairline under decoration extending down to 1" from base. Multiple hairlines coming from base and around the body with spidering.
