Painted in 1957.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by the Galerie Maurice Garnier.

Condition Report:
The canvas is not lined. Inspection under UV light reveals a small area of retouching to the lower part of the left-hand wing (an approx. 2cm long line). There is a small brown accretion to the centre of the lower left quadrant. There are some tiny gold leaf accretions to parts of the extreme edges and some minor frame abrasion with some associated tiny losses. There is some minor paint shrinkage to parts of the brown pigment in the fly's body and a few tiny paint losses in places, only visible upon extremely close inspection. This work is in overall good condition.

Condition 11 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers (Online Only) is not applicable to this lot.
