Moud Persian carpet - lovely gallery - Rug - 494 cm - 82 cm

The city of Moud (Mud) is located south of Mashhad and therefore in the east of Iran. It is considered an ancient city and the carpets are known worldwide for their good quality. The patterns of moud carpets can be divided into three different variants.
A variant is the “Medallion Moud”, which has a round star medallion in the middle of the Herati pattern. Finally, the carpet is complemented by palmettes and stylized flower motifs in the border. Another variant is the patterned type, in which the inner field is determined by the Herati pattern. The last variant is the “Field Pattern Moud”, also known as the Garden Pattern.
In the inner field there are floral motifs, trees of life and other floral patterns in the rectangular fields. The border is also supplemented with animal and plant motifs. Moud carpets have strong colors such as red, reddish brown and blue, usually on a beige/red colored background.
This moud has an extremely high knot density.
The carpet was imported into the EU in 2023.
