[ translate ]

HENRI MOUYNET & DEGUÉ
. A wonderful French art deco pendant in nickel plated solid brass or bronze and moulded-pressed glass. Around 1930. The thick heavy bowl is signed H. Mouynet. Henri Mouynet was a producer of bronze and forged iron lighting fixtures. He had a large company in Paris working mainly in a neo-classical style but he made lamps sconces and chandeliers in modern (art déco) style as well. In 1926 he built a huge building at 11 rue Etienne Marcel prolongée (nowadays named Roger Verlomme street) . After the crisis he was forced to sell it. H. Markhbeinn who had a business importing and distributing Bohemian glasses from Eastern europe bought the place in 1937.

. Several model shades in molded-pressed glass are known that are signed H. Mouynet. Some models like the one of this chandelier were made for Mouynet by Degué others by Charles Schneider.

. Made in clear moulded-pressed glass the shade was frosted by acid and polished by hand to give it glossy highlights. The pendant is in excellent condition. It has a height of 45,7 cm. The shade has a diameter of 35 cm. I have renickeled and patinated the fixture. It is newly wired. The chandelier holds a European E27 socket. For the US or Japan I will place an american standard one.

. Safe packaging guaranteed : As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting I sell my lamps online for a fraction of the prices art deco shops sell for. For over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the precious items well protected and fully insured.
