Muller Freres - French Art Deco lamp

MULLER FRERES A nice French art deco desk lamp in solid brass or bronze made around 1925-1930. It holds a beautiful coloured shade in mottled glass produced by Muller frères It has the usual 'Muller fres Luneville' signature done in acid. The lamp is about 35,5 cm high. It's in good condition. I only cleaned the base with soap and water and left the original patina (oxidation) in tact. To give the base enough weight to be stable it holds a cast iron weight on the inside of the footplate. The lamp is rewired with new cloth covered twisted cord and is equiped with a new E14 socket so you will have no difficulties finding suitable bulbs for it. Originaly old French lamps had B22 bayonet sockets. But they are very unpractical. Good quality modern light bulbs are hardly available. And for professional restorers 90 years old sockets are forbidden to use. So I wire lamps with E14 sockets for which bulbs are widely available. For European countries I will add a good quality LED bulb. For the States or Japan I will rewire the lamp with a US candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug.
