First Edition. xi, [1, Reference to Plates], 180 pp. With five color plates including fold-out frontispiece by George Cruikshank,"The Journey to the Moon, or Munchausen on Mahomet's Ass." Period half speckled calf and marbled boards, gilt decorated spine with red morocco label lettered in gilt. Very Good, worn along edges, front hinge a little free, three bookplates at front, faint foxing to prelims. A satirical novel directed at Sir William Curtis and a continuation of the adventures of Baron von Munchausen, with all its rare color plates present, two of which were illustrated by English caricaturist and illustrator George Cruikshank and the others at least partially by his father Issac.
