The katana of honzukuri configuration, with an extended kissaki and toriizori curvature, forged in itamehada with a kata-ochi gunome tempered edge ending in a midarekomi boshi, both sides carved with naginata hi, the o-suriage tang with three holes, kiri file marks, and signed Bishu Osafune no ju Kagemitsu, with a two-piece gold-foil habaki, 26 7/8in (68.2cm) long, in a military mount with iron fuchi-gashira decorated with flowering vines in gold hirazogan and a Kyo-sukashi tsuba pieced with plum, pine, cherry, and maples, and gilt-metal menuki formed as Hotei; the wakizashi of honzukuri, iorimune, chu-gissaki configuration, with a shallow toriizori curvature, forged in itamehada and with a gunome midare tempered edge ending in a ko-maru boshi, the suriage tang with two holes, katte sagari file marks, and signed with a truncated signature Noshu no kami Minamoto Taka ..., with a one-piece copper habaki, 20in (50.6cm) long, in a wood shirasaya storage scabbard
