Condition Report:
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc., New York, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.

This work is unlined and still on its original stretcher. The paint layer is clean, varnished and retouched. Retouches are visible under ultraviolet light in the hat of the central figure, around his left elbow, and at the top of his right thigh. There are areas of original pigment that read darkly under ultraviolet light, but these do not correspond to retouching. The work would be hung as is.
