(N) DLO REGISTERED ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL BROWNING 1917A1 MACHINE GUN (FULLY TRANSFERABLE).

Near mint condition DLO registered Rock Island Arsenal marked sideplate Model 1917A1 Browning water-cooled machine gun. Note the attractive markings on the right sideplate. Currently in .30-06 but includes 8mm barrel with spacer as an accessory. Other accessories include an “McE, CO. 1942” dated 1917A1 tripod, original G.I. wooden ammo box with two near mint 250 round cloth belts, a G.I steel water condensing can, and steam hose. Trunnion and nose cap are bronze on this gun. Cartridge stop present in the feedway. Top of bolt unmarked. Attractive bakelite grip panels on pistol grip. Electronic NFA registry indicates “OEFINGER, DOUGLAS DBA DLO MFG” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent to mint gray parkerized refinish upon remanufacture with water fill and drain caps present and very attractive. Original brass chain and cork present and serviceable. Tripod is in extremely fine condition with legs turning a pleasing gray patina. This gun may well be unfired since remanufacture. No indication of a belt having crossed the trunnion. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto-only machine gun. The Browning water-cooled machine gun is very distinctive and especially popular on the range. This is a very nice offering, which includes the desirable 8mm conversion parts.
