Extremely nice condition specimen of a Colt 1921 Thompson with Cutts Compensator (actually a 1921AC model). Gordon Herigstad's serial number listing of serial numbers & histories indicates "Jim Watson collection, Phoenix, Arizona 11/00", as well as the Flint, Michigan Police Department. This gun is marked on its left side forward of the magazine well, “FLINT / POLICE / NO / 2”. This gun retains its original 1921 internal parts and correctly "anchor" marked original buttstock. Typical markings on receiver with visible serial numbers matching. Crisp clear lettering and sharp edges throughout. One lustrous blue 20-round Colt patent date magazine is included with this lot. Electronic NFA registry indicates “COLT” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine, deep, lustrous blue original finish thinning to a gray patina at the high edges, ejection port, stock attachment points, and at the actuator slot. Wood is very attractive with some noticeable bruises and handling marks on the buttstock, which has two small drilled holes where at one time there must have been a plaque affixed. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. A very handsome original finish specimen of the iconic Colt Thompson.
