(N) EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL FULLY TRANSFERABLE AUSTEN

[ translate ]

Extremely rare and very much sought after fully transferable Diecasters Ltd manufactured Austen MK II machine gun. Visible numbers are matching between bolt and receiver. The Austen is an Australian improvement on the Sten design which incorporates a folding stock and an enclosed telescoping mainspring after the manner of the German MP-40. Even the contours of the handgrips and grip panels closely resemble the MP-40. The addition of the forward vertical pistol grip undoubtedly was inspired by the American Thompson. Particularly noteworthy in the production of this gun was the use of diecasting to fabricate the magazine housing and top part of the magazine as well as end cap to expedite the manufacturing process. The resulting Austen (Australian Sten) machine gun is a very comfortable select-fire machine gun to shoot. Includes three 28 round original Austen magazines. This Mark II version incorporates flutes in the front of the main receiver housing to cool the barrel more effectively and a bayonet stud. It incorporates a brass flip-up rear peep sight graduated “100” and “200”. The shoulder loop retaining latch is a button at the rear of the receiver. ATF Registry shows simply "STEN” in the manufacture’s block with correct model information. If buyer desires correction/update to the registry can be requested upon paper form registration transfer. Manufacturer’s logo “DC” within a circle is on left side of receiver along with “Austen” “S.M.G.” “MK. II. XP.” Horizontal “Single” and “Auto” selector button in the side of the lower receiver reminiscent of the MP-44. Safety is in the same manner as the MP-40, a simple cut-out slot in the side of the receiver tube to hold the bolt back. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine original smooth blue finish on the barrel and receiver tube, with original dark and light green camouflage paint added overall excluding the barrel and grip panels. Magazine also incorporates this camouflage paint. This paint is flaking away exposing the metal beneath. Actually accentuates the “combat look” of this weapon. Grips extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is very extremely fine. This is a select fire machine gun. A wonderful combination of the ease of production of the Sten with good ideas borrowed from other successful designs. This is a select fire machine gun. An original condition incredibly rare and fine specimen as a transferable and Curio and Relic eligible gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE.
