(N) ITHACA GUN CO. AUTO & BURGLAR MODEL A 20 GAUGE

This is one of 2,500 guns built using the Flues model action, commonly referred to as a "Model A". These were made from 1921 until 1925. 10" barrels are chambered for the 2 - 1/2" 20 gauge shell. Saw handle wood grip with large spur to help the hand absorb recoil. Engraved "AUTO & BURGLAR GUN/ ITHACA GUN CO. ITHACA. NY" on either side of the receiver. This gun also has "CSJ 1744" stamped into the left side of the frame, the meaning of which is unknown. Matching numbers. Checkered grip and forend. This gun is accompanied by an original leather holster marked "Auto and Burglar Gun/ MADE BY/ ITHACA GUN CO./ ITHACA, N.Y.". NOTE: This gun is consecutive by factory serial number to the following gun in this auction. CONDITION: Retains 80% case colors on receiver with some light staining. Barrels retain 85% blue. Markings are clear. Wood has minor dings and handling marks. Checkering is good showing wear. Bores are fine. Fine mechanical function. Holster is solid with strong stitching and clear markings.
