[ translate ]

Very fine condition low serial number specimen of a Colt 1921 Thompson retaining original 1921 internal parts, and correctly cartouched buttstock. Note early markings at selector, square actuator slot, and no Cutts compensator as is correct on such an early Thompson. Matching upper and lower assemblies “JHB” inspection mark very clear on right side of receiver with crisp clear lettering and sharp edges throughout. Base of barrel where it meets the receiver with crown over “BM” “45 nitro-proof”, and buttplate has been carefully hand stamped, “PROPERTY OF HOWARD TURNER”. One each lustrous blue finish Bridgeport 20 round and 30 round magazines are included, as well as a plastic hard case. The Colt Thompson without compensator is the scarcer of the original 1921 models to find as many had a Cutts compensator added later. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine lustrous original blue finish with scattered light handling marks and some thinning to the finish to a gray patina, particularly at the actuator slot and stock attachment points. Buttplate has much less finish and has turned a brown and gray patina. Wood is extremely fine with a rich brown color and some very light handling marks. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright with the grooves showing a little darkness. Bolt is extremely fine. This is a select-fire machine gun. These very early Thompson machine guns surface for sale very, very, rarely, and for an advanced collector this is a welcome opportunity. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE.
