Fabulous condition DLO registered sideplate Model 1917A1 Browning water-cooled machine gun currently set up in 8mm with spacer at the front of the feedway. High condition 1917A1 tripod is also included with this lot. Trunnion is bronze with clip-on steel “protection” plate so that steel links may be used without putting wear on the trunnion. Hand grip is steel with attractive bakelite grip panels. Electronic NFA registry indicates “OEFINGER, DOUGLAS DBA DLO MFG” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent to mint gray parkerized refinish upon remanufacture with attractive bronze endcap and trunnion. Water fill and drain caps present and very attractive. Tripod likewise is in exceptional condition. This gun may well be unfired since remanufacture. No indication of a belt having crossed the trunnion. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only machine gun. The Browning water-cooled machine gun is very distinctive and especially popular on the range. Able to be readily converted into different calibers according to the desire of its owner, and with spare parts readily available, this is a mainstay of recreational belt fed machine gun enthusiasts.
