(N) ULRICH REGISTERED BEAUTIFUL GREEN PARKERIZED FINISH

Robert Urich assembled and registered Auto Ordinance Bridgeport address marked Thompson with Lyman adjustable rear sight, and finned barrel with Cutts compensator. Thompson bullet logo on top of receiver as well as on Cutts compensator. Number on metal of grip frame "1124" does not match receiver serial number. Small "S" proof mark visible on lower frame just forward of buttstock. Buttstock exhibits a hard plastic buttplate held in with Phillips screws. Marked on left side of receiver "THOMPSON MACHINE GUN / CALIBER .45 M1 / NO. 824”. Bolt fixed firing pin type. Included with this lot is a spare original buttstock which has "A A" markings on right side indicating Augusta Arsenal. There is one 30 round magazine included with this lot. The M1A1 Thompson with its side cocking bolt and Cutts compensator was the first step in making an easier to produce Thompson for military use as opposed to the more costly and time consuming earlier Thompson models. The M1A1 Thompson saw widespread use during World War II. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is simply outstanding. Extremely fine gray-green parkerized refinish upon remanufacture with some of the machining marks visible under the finish. Markings are absolutely crisp and clean. Wood is also very fine with a couple of small dings and a small chip at the right side base of the handgrip. Mechanics are crisp; bore is very fine, shiny and bright. "U.S. Cartridge Co" magazine in very fine condition with a lustrous blue finish. This gun came from an estate collection which had numerous machine guns, many of which appeared unfired. This is an exceedingly attractive Thompson that would fit well into any machine gun enthusiast's collection. Current registration form indicates manufacturer in block 4a is "R. W. URICH". THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2020-05-041.
