(N) VERY DESIRABLE GM-FRIGIDAIRE MANUFACTURED .50 CALIBER M2 BROWNING MACHINE GUN (CURIO & RELIC).

This desirable M2 .50 caliber Browning machine gun was manufactured by the Frigidaire division of General Motors, Dayton, Ohio, and is so marked on the right sideplate along with “FAM” inspector marking. Charging handle and backplate handles are attractive black composite. Electronic registry indicates, “INTERNATIONAL ARMORED GROUP” as the manufacturer. This was certainly the importer as Interarmco brought in quite a few guns after World War II. Morphy’s has requested correction to “FRIGIDAIRE DIV. GENERAL MOTORS”. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is extremely fine original finish with some gray patina at the high edges with some thinning in places. Wood is extremely fine with some light handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine to near excellent. This is a full-auto-only machine gun. The Browning .50 caliber machine gun manufactured by General Motors are among the most desirable of their kind because they resonate with historical machine gun enthusiasts in addition to being a gun one can take to the range occasionally and enjoy.
