Fantastic gem encrusted Blackamoor pin created by a Venetian jeweler GIULIO NARDI.

The Nardi's blackamoors are highly collectible. This rare, encrusted with zircon, Blackamoor clip is a great addition to your jewelry collection.
Weight 18.2 grams.
Made of 18 karat (stamped) yellow gold, ebony wood and encrusted with round faceted emerald and diamonds. Emerald total weight is 1.45 carats and diamond total weight is 2.72 carats.

Stamped with Nardi maker's mark, hallmark for 18 karat gold.
Measurements - 1-3/4 x 7/8 inches (4.5 x 2.2 cm).

In great condition; wear consistent with age and use (please see pictures for details).

Nardi is famous for his blackamoor "Moretto" brooches depicting the head and shoulders of a turbaned fabled Moor of Venice. Giulio Nardi, the Nardi founder began creating blackamoors in the early 20's and they became very popular in the late 1920s - early 1930s.
