NC-182. North Carolina. August 8, 1778. $100. PCGS Currency Very Fine 35.
No. 540. Signed by Benjamin Hawkins and Caswell. Motto "Freedom, or an honorable Death." The highest denomination from this series. Back design shows imprint "Printed by James Davis, 1778." With only 2,500 printed this is also the scarcest and most desirable denomination. The italicized grade is due to Edge Tears as mentioned by PCGS Currency. This is likely one of the nicest pieces you will be able to find. Never seen at loftier grade levels like for the lower denomination notes.
Estimate: $1,250 - $1,750.
