NEAR EASTERN CARNELIAN BIRD SHAPED BEAD

A Late period Egyptian carnelian bead in the shape of a bird with red and yellow highlights. The bird is shaped with an elongated body connected to a proportionate head. It's eyes are carved with a dot and the bird has a pronounced beak. The bead has a horizontally drilled hole in the wings.
