NESTLÉ - c.1930

Original single-sided enamel advertising sign with folded edges.
97.5 x 48 cm.

Good overall condition -

The sign retains all the vibrancy of its original colors, particularly the red of the cheeks, which is fully preserved, as well as a good overall sheen; the lower portion has a somewhat diminished sheen but is still in acceptable condition.
The gold on the letters remains, on the whole, about 70% intact.
There are subtle superficial scratches from normal wear on the surface and a few localized chips, mainly along the top and bottom edges, as well as in the corners.
Due to its large size, it is slightly warped.

A plaque advertising Nestlé infant foods (sweetened milk and milk flour).
The famous, cheerful smile of the brand’s iconic baby gives this piece a particularly cheerful and decorative appearance.

Nestlé’s founder, the Swiss-German pharmacist Henri Nestlé, launched his milk flour (a flour with added milk) in Vevey, Switzerland. The story begins in 1866, when the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company opened Europe’s first condensed milk factory in Switzerland.
In 1867, Henri Nestlé developed an innovative infant formula; by 1904, Nestlé had made its debut in the chocolate market; and in 1905, the company he founded merged with Anglo-Swiss. It would later become the Nestlé Group as we know it today.
