NEW YORK / VERMONT DECORATED STONEWARE PITCHER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, baluster form having broad rim with two incised rings, medial single ring, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Cobalt brushed bird and flower decoration with eight horizontal stripes below spout. Probably J & E Norton, Bennington, VT or West Troy Pottery, NY. Second half 19th century.
Condition: Firing imperfections, including blistering/exfoliation to cobalt decoration and two spalls to base edge, as made.
Size: 10 3/4" H, 5 1/4" D rim.
