Description:This Columbian escudo was salvaged from the wreck site of the Spanish Trasure Flotilla where, on July 31, 1715, the heavily laden Flotilla was lost in a raging hurricane off the east coast of Florida. Some seven hundred people perished with tons of gold, silver, and other precious cargo lost to the sea.According to the NGC, this coin is just 1 of 2 MS 64 graded escudo coins from the 1715 shipwreck. NGC Certification #: 2904810-001. Comes with Mel Fisher’s Certificate of Authenticity.
