[ translate ]

Property from the Collection of the Late Robert Heller

NICOLA HICKS
b.1960
TORTOISE

signed with initials, dated '88 and numbered 1/8 on the underside
bronze
length: 48.5cm.; 19in.
Conceived and cast in 1988, the present work is number 1 from the edition of 8.

Condition Report:
The sculpture appears sound. The surface of the bronze is uneven in places, in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There is some rubbing to protruding areas of the sculpture, most visible at the top of the shell and the underside of the feet and stomach. There are possibly some extremely faint scratches to the top of the shell. The top of the shell bears evidence of long term historic wear which has affected the texture of the cast. There may be one or two possible historic dents to the right of the uppermost part of the shell. There are one or two possible flecks of oxidation. There is light surface dirt to creviced areas.

The work is freestanding.
