Veneto-Cretan, late 15th century Laubholz-Einzeltafel. Eitempera auf Kreidegrund, Hintergrund vergoldet. 15,3 x 12,3 cm. Am Tempera on wood panel. Both figures painted in great detail on a gold ground. St. Peter to the left holding a closed Gospel book and the keys of heaven, St. Paul to the right also holding the closed Gospel book and a sword symbolising his martyrdom. The hems of the tunics highlighted with gold. Traces of Latin designator inscriptions in red at the top panel. This indicates that the icon was produced for a Catholic client. Jh. Laubholz-Einzeltafel. Eitempera auf Kreidegrund, Hintergrund vergoldet. 15,3 x 12,3 cm. Am oberen Rand Reste der lateinischen Bezeichnung der Heiligen, die auf einen katholischen Auftraggeber schließen lässt. In nahezu frontaler Ganzfigur gezeigt präsentieren die Heiligen ihre Attribute: Paulus hält die Himmelsschlüssel und das geschlossene Evangelium, Paulus ebenfalls das Evangelium und das Schwert. Die Inkarnate sind detailreich ausgearbeitet. Die weich modellierten Gewänder sind mit goldenen Bordüren verziert. Vertikaler Riss rest., altes Bohrloch.
