The white South sea pearl is a variety of saltwater pearl, cultured in the silver-lipped Pinctada maxima oyster, mostly in ocean waters from Australia to Indonesia. Emerging from the tranquil waters of Australia, these South Sea Pearls have a rich luxurious luster. The pearls have a blush of colour over the white body colour of the pearl. This overtone will warm up against any skin complexion and sparkle nicely. The sparkling overtones of these pearls are highly prized and have been carefully matched throughout the necklace. The necklace is a standard length of 45cm and is made with 37 cultured South Sea pearls that measure between 11 and 14mm in diameter, creating a statement with this luxurious size. The pearls have a beautiful nacre quality with light natural growth characteristics on the surface that do not detract from the elegance of the necklace. The necklace is strung by hand with knots between each pearl for safety and is completed with a secure invisible clasp. One end pearl receives a fine quality screw and the other end pearl a bolt mechanism. The clasp easily functions by gently twisting it counter clockwise to unlock, and clockwise to lock.
