Made from heavy harness leather 9" x 5" over 60 tacks decorate face and perimeter, vintage skinning knife 7" blade, white metal ferrule, worn wood grip. Collection tag states: "Knife sheath made from 7th Cav saddle taken at Little bighorn Fight by an Oglala Sioux. Doctor K. O. Leonard while at Standing Rock obtained this from Judge Frank Zahn. Dr Leonard's collection number and handwriting are on knife. Leonard Cave obtained this from Dr. Leonard after Dr. Leonard established practice in Garrison N.D.".
