NORTON
MANX 500
In the world of motorcycle racing only one motorbike became an icon of racing on two wheels: the Norton Manx. This motorcycle was created as the next evolution of the famous 500 cc single-cam International model, and it owes its name to its close association with the Isle of Man road races, which it often won. Over an extended period of time, from the late 1940s to the start of the 1970s, it won practically everything it could, including four Constructors’ world titles in the years 1950, 1951 and 1952. Its success can be attributed to the combination of a reliable engine that guaranteed excellent performances (even though it was a single cylinder) with a “Featherbed” chassis designed by Rex McCandless, which made it extremely stable and manageable. Accordingly, it became the must-have bike of its time, even among private riders. The model offered for sale is a beautiful 500 cc 30M, professionally restored and equipped with the best original components. Buying a Manx means not only to buy one of the most beautiful racing bike built ever, but to get “The Racing Bike” par excellance, the goal of all enthusiasts of GP bikes.
