Condition Report:
Overall the condition of the tankard is very good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The handle is carved separately and is slightly loose, but stable; it is held in place by two wood pins, there is glue residue visible around these pins. The silver mount to the top of the lid is also slightly loose but stable. There are two plugs to the wood handle. There is minor stable splitting to the wood in areas, consistent with the material, There is some very minor evidence of past worming to the wood. A varnish appears to have been applied to the surface.
