A pair of Chinese sancai-glazed pottery Buddhist lions, the male beast modelled with wide gaping mouth and a ball between the front paws lying on a bench draped in large ribbons; the female with closed mouth. Ming 16th-17th century. H. 41 and 43 cm. L. approx. 38 and 43 cm. Fitted hardwood stands. (2)
