LOT. SPEAR'S "Quick Change" Comic Pictures, The New Pastime. Hundreds of Funny Characters. Printed at The Spear Works, Bavaria, late 1800's/early 1900's. Condition: age loss to box. Pieces may not be complete. 8" Wood jointed "Popeye" figure with composite head (needs restringing). 6 Pc. wooden Matryoshka, originally sold in the March/April 2007 Mary Merritt Doll Museum Collection auction. (Age loss, wear.) 9 1/2" Carved wooden 19th c. "Zouave" type French N. African Infantry figure. This costume was copied from the original and used by the "Fire Zouaves" as a Civil War uniform, started by Firefighters from Philadelphia and New York during the 1860's. And finally, an 8" "Witch" marionette with composite head, torso and limbs. Appears all original with wires. This lot is being sold AS IS.
