NUCLEAR PHYSICS.Tadeusz Godlewski. INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. Two pamphlets. 8vo, in original printed wraps. 1. On the Absorption of the β and γ rays of actinium. From the Philosophical Magazine for September 1905. Inscribed by author in ink to the upper wrap “Hommage de i’auteur” pp375-379. With one other; Some Radioactive Properties of Uranium. From the Philosophical Magazine for July 1905. 45-60pp again inscribed by the author to the upper wrap. **Polish Chemist: Tadeusz Godlewski (working in the early 1900s alongside figures like Ernest Rutherford) studied the complex nature of radioactive rays and disintegration products. He investigated how specific rays (such as beta rays from actinium) absorbed through solid bodies and decayed strictly according to exponential laws. **Discovery of Actinium X (Radium-223): While conducting these experiments on the uranium and actinium series, Godlewski successfully discovered and isolated a new radioisotope he named Actinium X, known today as Radium-223.
