NWA 12368 Lunar Meteorite Lunar (feldspathic breccia) Northwest Africa Found: 2017 This rocky specimen is rather rustic over the entirety of the austere surface, with the exception of a nice sized, irregularly shaped polished window. The slick and shiny aspect further reveals the composition of the meteorite - of lunar origin - with a glance into the core of the extraterrestrial representative. With a weight of 1.8 kilograms (4 pounds), this is a massive piece of the Moon. The feldspathic breccia is devoid of fusion crust but displays fragmental breccia, with numerous clasts set in a brownish-gray background. This lunar meteorite classified as NWA 12368 was found in Morocco in 2017. This represents one of less than 250 classified lunar varieties and is the MAIN MASS example. The complex and varied exterior gives the rugged Space rock a complicated appearance, and its size and weight for a lunar are very substantial. Virtually every face of this specimen is unique in its own right featuring a variety of mineral constituents. Overall Measurements: 4.72 x 4.33 x 4.13 inches (12.00 x 11.00 x 10.50 cm), weighs 1,838 grams (4.05 pounds) [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
