NWA 12513 Meteorite Eucrite-mmict Northwest Africa Found: 2018 Representing...
NWA 12513 Meteorite Eucrite-mmict Northwest Africa Found: 2018 Representing one of the only three varieties of meteorites in the Howardite-Eucrite-Diogenite ("HED") clan of achondrites, this Eucrite-mmict classified as NWA 12513 is monomict breccia gabbroic and 169 grams in weight. The low shocked example exhibits a low grade of weathering, and the material was found in Algeria in 2018. This wedge-shaped offering boasts a tremendous amount of rich dark fusion crust with a craquelure aspect adding further contrast to this already compelling specimen that also has large and stark exposed faces revealing a rather cement-like interior dramatically different from the darker crust. This representation is even all the more exotic, considering it likely originated from the asteroid 4 Vesta. Measurements: 2.22 x 2.03 x 1.96 inches (5.64 x 5.15 x 4.98 cm), weighs 168.6 grams HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
