NWA 13187 Martian Meteorite Slice Martian (shergottite) Northwest Africa...
NWA 13187 Martian Meteorite Slice Martian (shergottite) Northwest Africa Found: December 2019 Shaped a little bit like the state of Nebraska in the abstract, this thin slice of NWA 13187 represents the shergottite variety and is, therefore, a Martian meteorite. This piece of the Red Planet is more grayish in hue with a speckled patterning consistent over both of its smooth sides. Weighing 24 grams, this slab is relatively sturdy and sizable, with a significant amount of surface area for its weight.
