NWA 14041 Lunar Meteorite Sphere Lunar (fragmental breccia) Mali Found: 2021 While material from Iron and Stony-Iron meteorites is more typically "worked" to create secondary objects like slices, cubes, and spheres, Stony Meteorites can sometimes be turned into something special. Such is the case with this sphere, which was not only hewn from such stone, but happens to be made out of lunar meteorite. This round offering is, indeed, made out of rock from the Moon!! Weighing 63.7 grams and boasting a diameter of 1.36 inches (3.45 cm), this most unique orb tells a great story. Representing NWA 14041, this is a feldspathic breccia, and the meteorite sphere has a mix of light and dark hues of browns and blacks as well as some fabulous, contrasting white clasts.
